MAZE
2017 | 102 Pages | Full Color
Góreck is a creature that lives within the dreams of a boy named Nico.
When Nico sleeps, his dream world comes alive and the two live fantastic adventures together. When the boy wakes up, the dream world darkens, and the only thing that remains alive in there is Góreck.
One day, Nico disappears. Góreck keeps waiting for him, while the world around him seems to be slowly deteriorating. He then decides to go look for his friend. Góreck walks through the boy’s abandoned dreams and each location triggers the memories of the adventures they had together. Each dream carries a connection to reality, a connection that Góreck is not able to see.
While looking for Nico, Góreck finds an amulet that is meant to protect the boy in times of distress. To help his friend and bring him the amulet, Góreck must leave the dream world and enter a maze of real memories.
Breaking the barrier between dream and reality causes Góreck’s body to start deteriorating. In the maze, Góreck can see the memories that inspired many of Nico’s dreams: he finally understands the relationship between reality and dreams, and discovers his own origin.
At the end of the maze, Góreck will have to face the hard choice of giving his life for his friend.
